Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a lovely couple who sought our expertise for a whole-home consultation. They own a charming Colonial home built in 2000, featuring decorative millwork, four bedrooms, and two and a half baths. With plans to move within the next five years, they wanted to prioritize the most impactful upgrades.

Phase 1: Owner's suite closet design & closet edit
We kicked off the project by focusing on the master bathroom and closet. Collaborating with a trusted contractor, we developed a space plan that included a stunning green tile for an earthy feel and a wood-stained vanity for added warmth. Meanwhile, we began tackling the closet with a thorough edit, sorting items to keep, donate, or relocate. Using a Z rack and bins, we efficiently transferred the closet contents to a guest room, ensuring everything was organized and ready for renovation.
Why This Matters: Combining design and organization minimizes disruption and keeps the project running smoothly.
phase 2: demo & professional organizing
Once plans were laid, the first step was demo day.
As the bathroom demo began, transforming the space down to the studs, we simultaneously tackled the home office and linen closet. The home office, previously a catch-all space, was reimagined into a dedicated craft area with fresh paint, custom closets, and organizing storage solutions. The result? A functional and inviting space perfect for both work and creativity.
We then turned our attention to the linen closet. The original shelving was starting to bow, so we installed a new custom closet and used minimal bins and expert folding techniques to create organized categories and spruce up the space.
Stage 3: aesthetics & custom closet
With the tile, flooring, shower base, and doors installed, we prepared for the delivery of the vanity, sinks, hardware, and plumbing fixtures. We also finalized the design of the custom closet, making sure to maximize vertical space with a combination of double hanging, drawers, open shelving, and a tie and belt rack.
phase 4: final touches & closet organization
In the final phase, we added those all-important finishing touches. We styled the above-toilet floating shelves with chic decor, arranged vanity items like towels and soap bottles, and incorporated organizing products to keep everything tidy.
We then moved the clothes back from the guest room, organizing items into the newly renovated closet using felt hangers, purse organizers, and drawer dividers to maximize space and functionality.
Why This Matters: Thoughtful decor and smart organization elevate the overall design, making the space not only beautiful but also highly functional.
